TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program Applications Have Started

Applications for the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program Are Now Open

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) has opened applications for the 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program for the 2025 Fall Term. The program aims to develop the research competencies of university students and to promote project-based learning, including students from faculties of engineering and architecture.

Applications started on Monday, October 13, 2025, and will close on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 5:30 PM. Applications can only be submitted online through the TÜBİTAK Management Information System (TYBS). The system automatically shuts down at 5:30 PM on the deadline day; therefore, students must complete their applications and obtain advisor approval on time.

The maximum support period within the program is 12 months, and the maximum grant amount provided for each project is 9,000 TL. Expenses can only be made through the project leader’s bank account and must be supported by invoices. The scope of support includes machinery-equipment, consumables, service procurement, and travel expenses, while accommodation, publication, patent, or per diem expenses are excluded.

Undergraduate and associate degree students may apply individually or as a group. However, students enrolled in open education programs or preparatory classes are not eligible to apply. Each project must have an academic advisor, and advisors can take part in a maximum of five projects in the same term. Applications are finalized when the project proposal prepared by the student is approved by the advisor through the TYBS system.

Project proposals are evaluated through a two-stage process. In the first stage, a preliminary review is conducted to check application requirements and documents. In the second stage, the Scientific Evaluation Committee evaluates the project under the following criteria: the quality of the research proposal (35%), the method (25%), project management (20%), and widespread impact (20%).

It is aimed that students of engineering and architecture faculties realize their original research ideas, gain academic research experience, and produce innovative solutions through this program. The program also contributes to preparing students for other research and innovation supports provided by TÜBİTAK.
