Message From Head of Department


Civil Engineering is one of the oldest engineering branch and as long as the human being does exist, the civil engineer produces projects and construct structures to meet the needs of housing transport, water and sanitation taking into account the present and future technology and environment.   In addition, the traffic jam problem due to increase in vehicle ownership and population is one of main problem for almost all cities. Many R&D projects including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) has been developing to solve the traffic jam problem.

Smart houses, smart roads, smart vehicles, autonomous vehicles have taken place in our life after the development of internet technology.  The civil engineers follow the present and the ongoing technology.  One of the reason of preference of civil engineering among other branches is the wide working area.  The civil engineer will continue to serve all human beings by the end of World.
 
The Civil Engineering Department was established in 2011 and first graduation ceremony was held in 2015.  The graduates work for both public and private companies. In addition, the department has MSc and PhD programs.  MSc course starts after 6 pm so that working people could attend the course.  The department has construction materials, geotechnics and hydraulics laboratory for student and R&D projects.  The laboratory has main test equipment’s, however, our mission is to improve the laboratory on project basis. Staffs in the department have also joint projects with other departments.  Our aim is to educate the students in four years’ time having the latest technology and skills for today and the future. 

The department education quality is going to improve continuously considering the student, the advisory board and our graduates  demands as the name of the University implies.
