Ahmed AL-HUTHAIFI, a graduate student in the Department of Civil Engineering at Istanbul Gelisim University, has successfully defended his master’s thesis titled “Bending Analysis of Hollow and Solid Sandwich FGM Rectangular Plates” under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Ahmad Reshad NOORI, Chair of the Department.
The research explored the comparative bending performance of hollow and solid sandwich rectangular plates made from Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs), which are increasingly utilized in advanced engineering applications. The study provided valuable insights into structural efficiency, particularly in relation to weight reduction and bending resistance.
The thesis defense was evaluated by jury members Asst. Prof. Arman ATASOY and Asst. Prof. Hamit ÖZTÜRK, who commended the study's scientific merit and methodological rigor.
