Master's students Muratcan İLGÜZ, Özge İLGÜZ, and Durmuş YETİŞİR, supervised by Asst. Prof. Yasin PAŞA from the Civil Engineering Department, have successfully completed their thesis defenses and fulfilled the requirements for graduation.
Muratcan İLGÜZ completed his thesis titled “Investigation of Rainwater Harvesting and Its Potential Use in Toilet Reservoirs in Residential Complexes: The Case of Bizimkent Housing Estate in Beylikdüzü,” which evaluated the potential of rainwater harvesting systems for domestic water reuse and efficient water resource management.
Özge İLGÜZ completed her thesis titled “Rainwater Harvesting in Sustainable Urbanization and Disaster Management: A Case Study of Beylikdüzü Yaşam Valley for Landscape Irrigation and Emergency Water Storage.” The study examined the role of rainwater harvesting in sustainable urban planning and emergency preparedness by assessing its applicability for landscape irrigation and emergency water supply.
Durmuş YETİŞİR completed his thesis titled “Investigation of the Effects of Numerical Methods Used in Dam Breach Analyses on Flood Inundation Maps: The Case of Çubuk II Dam.” His research analyzed how different numerical modeling approaches influence flood inundation mapping and contribute to dam safety and flood risk management.
These theses provide valuable contributions to sustainable water management, disaster risk reduction, and hydraulic engineering while offering practical solutions to contemporary engineering challenges.
