The TUBITAK 2209-A Undergraduate Research Project conducted by our Civil Engineering student Somayeh AZIMI under the supervision of our Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Ahmad Reshad NOORI has been accepted for support.
The project, titled “Buckling Analysis of Functionally Graded Circular and Annular Plates Using the Finite Element Method,” focuses on investigating the buckling behavior of circular and annular plates made of functionally graded materials through finite element analysis. Within the scope of the project, analyses and validation studies will be carried out using ANSYS software and SHELL208/209 elements under different boundary conditions, material variation ratios, and mesh densities.
The project aims to contribute to the development of advanced material applications in engineering and to support research in the field of innovative material technologies. It is also expected to contribute to the literature in areas requiring high-level engineering applications, such as satellite panels, rocket structures, and thermal protection systems.
Receiving support under the TUBITAK 2209-A program once again demonstrates the research motivation of our students and the scientific productivity of our department.
The department congratulates our student Somayeh AZIMI and her supervisor Assoc. Prof. Ahmad Reshad NOORI and wishes them continued success.
