A Ceremony of Appreciation Was Held for the Academics Who Contributed to the ABET Success of IGU Faculty of Engineering and Architecture

Following the evaluation process conducted by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), one of the world’s most prestigious engineering accreditation bodies, the Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture has successfully extended its accreditation for six years, until September 30, 2031. On this important occasion, a ceremony of appreciation was held at our university.

At the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Abdulkadir Gayretli, and our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bahri Sahin.

Education at International Standards, Sustainable and Research-Oriented

The comprehensive evaluations carried out by the ABET Committee covered many areas, including educational infrastructure, academic staff qualifications, research outputs, quality assurance systems, and continuous improvement mechanisms. As a result of these detailed assessments, the extension of the accreditation until 2031 clearly demonstrates our university’s vision of sustainable, research-oriented higher education supported by international quality assurance.

The extended ABET accreditation shows not only that existing standards have been maintained, but also that steady development and a strong institutional culture of quality have been successfully sustained. This achievement is a concrete reflection of the Industrial Engineering Department’s commitment to academic excellence, its practice-oriented education approach, and its strong collaborations with industry.

In the speeches delivered at the ceremony, it was emphasized that this significant achievement enhances the global competitiveness of our graduates and contributes to the international visibility of our university. All academic and administrative staff who contributed to this success were thanked, and it was stated that quality-oriented efforts will continue to grow.
