 A Ceremony of Appreciation Was Held for the Academicians Who Contributed to IGU FEAS’s ABET Achievement


Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture has successfully extended its accreditation for six years, until September 30, 2031, following the evaluation process conducted by ABET.At the ceremony held to mark this significant achievement, certificates of appreciation were presented to the academicians who contributed to the process by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Abdülkadir Gayretli, and the Rector, Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin.


The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Istanbul Gelisim University has successfully extended its accreditation for six years, until September 30, 2031, following the evaluation process conducted by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), one of the world’s most prestigious engineering accreditation organizations. In recognition of this significant achievement, a ceremony of appreciation was held at our university.

During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Abdülkadir Gayretli, and our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin.

Education at International Standards: Sustainable and Research-Oriented

The comprehensive evaluation conducted by the ABET Committee covered numerous areas, including educational infrastructure, faculty qualifications, research outputs, quality assurance systems, and continuous improvement mechanisms. As a result of this detailed review, the extension of accreditation until 2031 strongly demonstrates our university’s commitment to internationally recognized quality assurance, sustainable development, and a research-oriented higher education vision.

The renewed ABET accreditation indicates not only the preservation of existing standards but also the successful continuation of steady progress and an institutional culture of quality. This achievement is a concrete reflection of the academic excellence, practice-oriented education approach, and strong industry collaborations of our Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

In the speeches delivered during the ceremony, it was emphasized that this important achievement enhances the global competitiveness of our graduates and contributes to the international visibility of our university. Appreciation was extended to all academic and administrative staff who contributed to this success, and it was stated that quality-focused efforts will continue to grow stronger.
