I got accepted into your department. What do I need to do for registration?
Congratulations and we wish you success. Explanations about registration are published on the IGU homepage or on the website of the Registrar's Office.
 
The language of instruction of the department I have enrolled in is Turkish, can I study preparatory education if I want?
Optional preparatory education is paid. In this case, your education period is extended by 1 year.
 
Where can I get my student ID card?
Newly enrolled engineering students can get their student ID cards from the Secretariat (Tower-19th Floor).
 
What do I need to do for course registration?
You can register for courses by logging into the Student Information System between the dates specified in the academic calendar.

Which campus is my department located in?
IGU Industrial Engineering Department carries out its educational activities in Tower (J-Block). Faculty members' rooms and the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture are located on the 19th floor of the Tower.
 
Does my department have accreditation?
IGU Industrial Engineering Department are accredited by the USA-based ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC).
 
Can I be exempted from the courses I have taken from different universities before?
Students who enrolled in the university with central placement can apply for exemption from the courses they have taken in a previous higher education institution and have been successful / conditionally successful within the dates announced in the academic calendar in the first semester of course registration. The course exemption request will be evaluated by the commission within the scope of the IGU Directive on Exemption Procedures-Adjustment Pocedures and Lateral Transfer Principles
 
Is there a compulsory internship in my department?
In order to graduate, our students are required to complete 2 compulsory internships, each of which is 30 working days. Click here for detailed information about internships.
 
Does my department have contracted places for internship?
Our students find the institution where they will do their internship. However, our Department faculty members help our students who have difficulties in finding an internship place.
 
How many credits do I need to complete to graduate?
The number of credits required for graduation is 138. You can get more detailed and up-to-date information by looking the curriculum.
 
Is there an attendance requirement?
Each student is obliged to attend lectures, practices, laboratories, projects, seminars, workshops, internships, graduation studies and similar studies for the semester in which they will attend. In our university, there is an attendance requirement for at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the applications and laboratories. Detailed information about the attendance requirement can be found in the IGU Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.
 
I got a medical report during the exam period, can I take the make-up exam?
Students who cannot take the midterm exams due to health problems are given the right to take a make-up exam with the decision of the relevant board of directors, provided that they obtain their health permits from full-fledged state hospitals, university hospitals or family health centers in the provinces where the University units are located. Do you have summer school?
There is a summer school at our university, and it is held within the dates previously announced in the academic calendar. Detailed information about summer school can be found in the Summer School Directive.
 
Can I do Double Major while studying in IGU Industrial Engineering undergraduate program?
Yes, you can. Istanbul Gelisim University offers a double major program free of charge to its students. Students who have a GPA of 2.90 out of 4.00 in their major program and who are in the 20% success rate in their undergraduate/pre-degree program are entitled to apply to the second major diploma program free of charge. Students who successfully complete the double major program and are entitled to two undergraduate degrees are awarded two undergraduate diplomas. 
 
Can I benefit from Erasmus+ program while studying at IGU Industrial Engineering undergraduate program?
Yes, you can. Students at Istanbul Gelisim University can participate in the Erasmus+ program. They are paid a certain monthly grant in the currency of the countries they will be travelling to. A total of 18 students have benefited from the Erasmus+ program in the IGU Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program since its establishment. Click here for detailed information about Erasmus.
