The Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Gelisim University held a comprehensive “Academic Advising Meeting” aimed at supporting the academic development of students from all class levels. The meeting received active participation from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students.
The main objective of the meeting was to raise awareness among students regarding the academic requirements they will encounter throughout their undergraduate education and to help them make informed decisions in planning their academic paths. In this context, detailed information was provided on key topics including:
Mandatory and voluntary internship processes
Graduation project preparation
Double major (DMP) and minor program opportunities
Evaluation criteria for midterm and final exams
Additionally, recommendations were offered on career planning after graduation, study-abroad opportunities, and effective study techniques for academic success.
Beyond informative sessions, the event also allowed students to engage directly with their academic advisors, voicing their expectations and concerns. Feedback collected during the session was documented to help shape the department’s future educational strategies.
