TTO/TEKMER directors of universities in Istanbul met at Dijitalpark Teknokent

The 4th meeting of the directors of the TTO (Technology Transfer Office) and TEKMER (Technology and Innovation Center) of the universities in Istanbul was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Dijitalpark Teknokent, a joint organization of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University and Turkish-German University. In addition to Istanbul Gelisim University TTO, TTO/TEKMER directors of various universities attended the meeting.

The meeting emphasized the importance of positioning universities' TTOs more effectively, similar to the example at the University of Oxford. In addition, it was stated that TTOs should guide universities technologically and play a more active role in commercialization processes. In terms of investor companies, it was among the prominent issues in the negotiations that the projects were more attractive and offered great opportunities than the transfer of licenses.

At the meeting, the idea of preparing a joint project for the 3 calls announced by the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA) within the scope of the Financial Support Program for 2025 was adopted. It was decided that the next meeting would be held on February 18, 2025, hosted by Kültür University, and the technical staff who would take part in the project would participate in this meeting.

Call for proposals for ISTKA 2025 Financial Support Programs

At the meeting, attention was drawn to the three financial support programs announced by ISTKA on January 13, 2025. These include:

Twin Transformation Financial Support Program
Artificial Intelligence Technologies Financial Support Program
Cooperation Istanbul - Financial Support Program for Strengthening Collaborations between Corporate Companies and Startups

Applications for these programs will continue until April 11, 2025. TTOs of universities aim to increase cooperation within the scope of these calls.
