The 58th meeting of the Communication Group of Heads of Architecture Departments (MOBBIG) was held between May 16–18, 2025, hosted by the Department of Architecture at Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir. Themed “Declaration and Construction of Freedoms and Originalities,” the event saw participation from Dr. N. Ömer Saatcıoğlu on behalf of our Department Chair Assoc. Prof. İlke Ciritci, representing Istanbul Gelisim University.
The event aimed to enhance the quality of architectural education and strengthen communication between departments. On the first day, participants shared insights on the potentials and challenges of architectural education, as well as accreditation processes. Representatives from the Chamber of Architects, MIAK, and MİKEDON presented their current reports.
On the second day, a workshop was held with the participation of department heads to evaluate the general state of architectural education and exchange ideas. The final day featured a study tour to visit and examine architectural works by Nevzat Sayın, Noyan Vural Architecture, and Artı 3 Architecture on-site.
The next face-to-face MOBBIG meeting, the 59th edition, is scheduled to be hosted by Bursa Technical University’s Department of Architecture in 2026.
