Paper Presentation by an Architecture Department Student at the MEKON 2026 Conference

On 25.6.2026, at the IGU J blok, Nadeen Hussein Hadi Al-Suwailih, an undergraduate student in the Department of Architecture at Istanbul Gelişim University, successfully presented her paper titled "Integration Potential of Static Shading Devices into Adaptive Mechanisms via Dimensional and Mechanical Movement Taxonomy" at the MEKON 2026 (Mechatronics Student Conference). This interactive study, derived from our student's studio projects and establishing an innovative link between architectural geometry and mechatronic systems, was conducted under the academic supervision of Assoc. Prof. Semih Göksel Yıldırım (PhD). Additionally, Assist. Prof. Erdal Yıldız (PhD) contributed to the conceptual framework of the research, which encompasses physical environmental control and natural daylighting strategies. We congratulate our student and wish her continued success in her future work at the intersection of architectural design and building technologies.
