Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Software Engineering Department proudly celebrated a significant milestone this year by graduating its very first class. Aiming to train qualified engineers for the rapidly evolving technology and software sectors, the department has quickly gained attention with its strong academic staff, up-to-date curriculum, and project-based education approach.
At the 2025 graduation ceremony, students who successfully completed an intensive four-year program received their diplomas with great enthusiasm. Speaking at the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture highlighted the strategic importance of software engineering in today’s world and expressed strong confidence that the graduates will make a difference in the industry.
The Head of the Department emphasized that students were equipped not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills in areas such as project development, teamwork, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and software security, stating:
“We believe our first graduates will contribute innovative solutions to the software world and take part in both national and international projects. Their success will also serve as a strong reference for our department.”
Graduates expressed their gratitude to their professors, noting that the education they received was well-aligned with industry needs. The IGU Software Engineering Department plans to further strengthen its contributions to Turkey’s digital transformation in the coming years through research and development activities and industrial collaborations.
