 Mentor Support from IGU at TEKNOFEST 2025 Quantum Technologies Software Competition

The Quantum Technologies Software Competition, held for the first time this year as part of TEKNOFEST 2025, took place at Gebze Bilişim Vadisi between September 1 and 3, 2025. Out of 94 teams that applied from all over Türkiye, 65 teams were selected in the preliminary round, and 10 of them made it to the finals. The finalists competed in a challenging three-day hackathon to produce innovative solutions in the field of quantum technologies.

Competitors Sought Solutions to Security Problems Using Quantum Neural Networks
 
During the final stage of the Quantum Technologies Software Competition, teams focused on topics such as recognizing fuzzy facial images and security applications using Quantum Neural Networks (QNN). Throughout the highly competitive contest, participants combined their knowledge of quantum computing with their software development skills.
 
Global Perspective on Quantum Technologies at the International Panel
 
Organized with the contributions of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TÜBİTAK, T3 Foundation, and ComPro Group, the event also hosted the International Quantum Technologies Panel with the participation of experts from IBM and Lancaster University. At the opening of the panel, it was emphasized that quantum technologies should be disseminated and awareness among young people in this field should be increased.
 
Academic Support from IGÜ: Research Assistant Saim Hatipoğlu Served as Mentor
 
At this prestigious event, Research Assistant Saim Hatipoğlu at the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Istanbul Gelişim University, served as a mentor. Providing technical guidance to the finalist teams, Research Assistant Hatipoğlu guided young software developers in quantum software projects, sharing his individual knowledge and successfully representing Istanbul Gelişim University.
