Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Policies Were Discussed at the Tech Talks-3 Panel Discussion
The Tech Talks-3 panel discussion, organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Istanbul Gelişim University, addressed the importance of science, technology, and entrepreneurship policies in engineering and development processes. During the event, which featured Assoc. Prof. Osman Dur as a guest speaker, students had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into R&D, domestic production, technology development, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The “Tech Talks-3” event, organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Istanbul Gelişim University, was held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, with a high level of participation. As part of the event, a panel discussion titled “The Importance of Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Policies in Transforming Labor into Knowledge” was held with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Osman Dur, General Manager of TürkSat, General Manager of BMC Power, and Professor at Istanbul University.
The discussion addressed the decisive role of scientific knowledge production, technological development, and entrepreneurship policies in a country’s development processes. Assoc. Prof. Osman Dur emphasized that in the field of engineering, it is not only technical competence but also a culture of research, innovative thinking, strategic planning, and an understanding of sustainable production that hold great importance.
Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into technology development processes, domestic production, R&D activities, the defense industry, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dur also offered advice to aspiring young engineers on career planning, keeping pace with industry developments, and adopting a production-oriented perspective.
