The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Istanbul Gelişim University welcomed its new students at an orientation program held on September 17, 2026. Following speeches by university and faculty administrators, alumni and current students shared their experiences and provided information on opportunities such as double majors, Erasmus, and project grants. The program concluded with department faculty members meeting with students in the foyer to answer their questions.
The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) welcomed its new students at an orientation program held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 15:00.  The program began with speeches by university and faculty administrators, and alumni and current students also shared their experiences, addressing questions about university life.

Abdülkadir GAYRETLİ, Chair of the Istanbul Gelişim University Board of Trustees, delivered the opening speech of the program. In his speech, GAYRETLİ provided information about Istanbul Gelişim University and welcomed the students as they began their academic careers. Following the opening remarks, Prof. Şükran Güzin ILICAK AYDINALP, Acting Rector of Istanbul Gelişim University, addressed the students. The program continued with a speech by Prof. Bayram ÜNAL, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.

Following the administrative speeches, faculty alumni and current students took the stage. While the alumni shared their experiences from their years at the faculty with the new students, the current students provided information about the opportunities that might arise during their academic journey. Topics such as double majors, Erasmus, and project grants were discussed during this segment. In this manner, the new students had the opportunity to hear about university life from the perspectives of both alumni and current students.

In the final part of the program, faculty members from the department met with new students in the foyer. The students spoke with the faculty members and asked them questions directly about their departments and the educational process. The orientation program concluded with the new students getting to know the faculty members and learning about their first days at the university.
