MDC is an annual student architectural design and idea competition that provides participants with the opportunity to develop innovative ideas in a multidisciplinary environment beyond their academic education, working collaboratively as a team.
For MDC'25, the focus is on developing solutions for the seasonal and flexible housing needs of mobile workforces engaged in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and archaeology across different regions of the country. Participants are expected to identify a problem they have observed or personally experienced, construct a comprehensive narrative that explains the cause-and-effect relationship of their chosen location, and develop their design proposals accordingly.
Shaped around the theme of "Temporality," the competition encourages participants to clearly define their chosen "problem" and "place" while proposing creative solutions to address these challenges. Students of the Istanbul Gelişim University Department of Architecture are invited to participate in the competition to showcase their original ideas and gain experience in an interdisciplinary design process.
