Research Paper by Civil Engineering Research Assistant Published at the 13th National Hydrology Congress

The research paper by Res. Asst. Oğuzhan Murat HALAT from the Civil Engineering Department, examining hydrological model performance using different precipitation and streamflow datasets in Türkiye's Eastern Black Sea Region, was published at the 13th National Hydrology Congress held on October 14–17, 2026.

The research paper titled “Performance Evaluation Of The Mhm Hydrological Model Using Streamflow Observations And Glofas-Based Data In The Eastern Black Sea Region” authored by Res. Asst. Oğuzhan Murat HALAT from the Civil Engineering Department at Istanbul Gelisim University, was published at the 13th National Hydrology Congress, held on October 14–17, 2026.

The study investigates hydrological modeling performance in Türkiye's Eastern Black Sea Region, which is characterized by high precipitation, complex topography and significant flood risks. The research aims to evaluate how different precipitation datasets and streamflow reference sources affect hydrological model performance and the reliability of hydrological assessments.

The study provides valuable insights into flood risk assessment, water resources management and the improvement of hydrological predictions in the Eastern Black Sea Region. By comparing different datasets and modeling approaches, the research is expected to contribute to more reliable regional hydrological analyses.

The Civil Engineering Department congratulates Res. Asst. Oğuzhan Murat HALAT on this valuable scientific contribution and wishes him continued success in his academic studies.
