The Quantum Entrepreneurship Competition, organized as part of the Turkey Quantum and Deep Technology Summit 2025, was held on December 4, 2025, at Istanbul Feriye – C-Palace. The event brought together international academics, technology leaders, and industry experts. In the competition, the project titled “Q-SENTRY – Quantum-Based Anomaly Detection System”, developed by Istanbul Gelisim University Computer Engineering students Muhammad Amin Karimov and his teammate Yaren Güneri, made a strong impression. The team successfully completed the competition with a 2nd place award after delivering their final presentation.
Distinguished speakers at the summit included prominent names in the field such as Prof. Dr. Nihat Berker (Kadir Has University, former MIT faculty member), Prof. Dr. Zafer Gedik (Sabancı University), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihan Okay (Bilkent University). The event also served as a high-caliber platform uniting academia, industry, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem, with participation from institutions such as TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, IBM Quantum, and other leading sector representatives.
The finalist list featured academic research teams from various universities, associate-level researchers, R&D-focused studies, and expert groups specializing in cybersecurity and quantum technologies. In this competitive environment, Q-SENTRY stood out with its Qiskit-based prototype, designed to detect network anomalies by analyzing the natural noise behavior of quantum circuits.
The award ceremony was held on the main stage of the summit with broad participation, where the Q-SENTRY team received the second-place award for their innovative contribution to quantum-based anomaly detection.
