Asst. Prof. Didem Yılmaz, Res. Asst. Duygu Tüylü, and Bahar Yıldız Attended the ISPR 2026 Conference

Academics Asst. Prof. Didem YILMAZ and Res. Asst. Duygu TÜYLÜ, together with Industrial Engineering student Bahar YILDIZ, presented their research comparing classical and fuzzy FMEA approaches in production processes at ISPR 2026, held on October 15–17, 2026.

A research paper entitled “Risk Assessment in a Production Process: Classical and Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Application,” authored by Asst. Prof. Didem YILMAZ, Res. Asst. Duygu TÜYLÜ, and Industrial Engineering student Bahar YILDIZ from Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, was presented at the 26th International Symposium for Production Research (ISPR 2026), held on October 15–17, 2026.

The study comparatively examined Classical Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to identify and assess potential failures and risks in production processes. It investigated the effects of uncertainty on risk assessment outcomes and evaluated the potential contributions of fuzzy logic to decision-making processes.

By presenting findings aimed at improving risk identification and prioritization in production systems, the study contributes to quality management and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

The participation of our department's academics and student in this international scientific event highlights the Industrial Engineering Department's commitment to scientific research and student involvement in academic activities.
