Engineering Management Thesis and Non-Thesis Master Programs are opened
Within the Institute of Science; “Industrial Engineering Department Engineering Management Master Program with Thesis and Engineering Management Master Program with non Thesis” was opened.
Rationale and Topic of Opening a Engineering Management Master Program
Due to the fact that there are eight engineering undergraduate programs in our faculty and there are many industrial institutions in the vicinity, it was decided to open the Engineering Management Master Program which is an interdisciplinary engineering program considering the possible student demand.
Engineering Management is a program for making and implementing the most appropriate decisions in the management of existing and emerging technologies and associated production systems. It deals with issues at both strategic and operational levels.
The difference of Engineering Management programs from MBA programs is that they gain the knowledge and skills to use these qualities more effectively and efficiently without removing engineers from their existing technical knowledge and skills.
Engineering Management is the management of activities in which engineering and applied sciences are used. Engineering Management is for increasing efficiency, quality and global competitiveness, maintaining technological level, creating new business areas. Engineering Management is an interdisciplinary program that takes place among Industrial Engineering and Social Sciences.
Scope of Engineering Management Graduate Program and Its Related Engineering Branches
The Engineering Management program offers students the opportunity to work in the following areas: R&D Management, Information Management and Technologies, Distribution Management, Electronic Commerce, Human Resources Management, Quality Management, Production Planning and Control, Production Management, Numerical / Multicriteria Decision Making Model and Techniques, Strategic Management and Technology Management. This program provides opportunities for people who are trained in science fields such as Industrial Engineering, Business, Computer, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Civil Engineering to develop their managerial skills in effective and efficient resource utilization and progress in management.
