Students from Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School Discover Quality Through Industrial Engineering: Statistical Process Control Workshop Held
Students from Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School experienced quality, process variability, and statistical thinking practically through a “Statistical Process Control Workshop” organized by the Industrial Engineering Department of Istanbul Gelişim University.
On May 5, 2026, the “Statistical Process Control Workshop” was held for students of Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School by the Industrial Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Istanbul Gelişim University. The event, aimed at introducing high school students to the engineering discipline through practical application, addressed quality control processes and the statistical thinking approach through interactive examples.
Within the scope of the workshop, students learned how quality can be monitored in production and service processes, how variability in processes can be evaluated, and the importance of the control concept in engineering applications.
Students had the opportunity to evaluate quality improvement processes more concretely through practical activities, not just limited to theoretical knowledge. The Statistical Process Control Workshop aimed to develop students' data-driven thinking, process analysis, and problem-solving skills. In this context, students had the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the role of Industrial Engineering in the areas of quality management, process improvement, and decision-making. The event was completed in a participatory and application-oriented learning environment under the guidance of department academics and research assistants.
Istanbul Gelişim University's Department of Industrial Engineering continues to support young people's interest in engineering fields through scientific and applied activities for high school students.
