INTERNSHIP PROCESS

The total internship duration in the Mechatronics Engineering Department is determined as 60 working days.

This document contains the internship guidelines and the steps to be followed during the internship.

STEP 1. WHEN CAN I DO MY INTERNSHIP?
  • Students who have completed at least the 4th semester can apply for an internship and complete it.
  • Internships are carried out during the summer months following the 4th and 6th semesters.
  • Students who are about to graduate (students who have completed all courses except Internship I and Internship II) can complete their internship during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

STEP 2. HOW DO I APPLY FOR AN INTERNSHIP?
  • The student must arrange the company where they will do their internship themselves. (There must be at least one Mechatronics Engineer / Control and Automation Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Electrical and Electronics Engineer / Computer Engineer / Software Engineer / Materials Engineer / Aeronautical Engineer at the company where the internship will take place.)
  • Requirements and conditions for internships abroad:   Students can complete their summer internships abroad. However, students will not be covered by our university's insurance for internships. All documents must be written in English.
  • Internship applications will be submitted via OBIS.
  • The compulsory summer internship form must be submitted online by the student via OBIS.

STEP 3. HOW SHOULD I FILL OUT THE INTERNSHIP APPLICATION FORM?
  • Since Internship I: 30 business days and Internship II: 30 business days must be completed for a total of 60 business days, an internship application must be for 30 business days. The 30 business days must be uninterrupted.
  • When calculating the number of internship days, national holidays and weekends (including Saturdays if the institution works on Saturdays) are not included.
  • Internship days cannot be split. Half cannot be completed before summer school and half after summer school.
  • The title of the person authorized for the internship must be Mechatronics Engineer / Control and Automation Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Electrical and Electronics Engineer / Computer Engineer / Software Engineer / Materials Engineer / Aeronautical Engineer.

STEP 4. WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER COMPLETING MY INTERNSHIP?

Things to consider when filling out the book:

  • Images should be sufficient and placed following the relevant day.
  • Official expressions and sentences (passive voice) should be used in the writing.
  • At the end of each day and on the intern student follow-up chart, the internship supervisor (engineer) must provide approval.
  • The book must be uploaded to the system via OBIS in the appropriate manner.
  • The Student Internship Survey Form and the Student Internships Company Survey Form must be submitted in person.

STEP 5. APPROVAL AFTER SUBMITTING THE INTERNSHIP JOURNAL

If the student provides the previous requirements and the internship committee decides it is appropriate, the internship is approved.

REVISION / REJECTION
