The foundation that established the university "Gelisim Education Culture Health and Social Service Foundation" has made an attempt to establish a Vocational College named "Istanbul Gelisim Vocational College" in 2008. The Ministry of National Education has sent a letter on the date of 08/07/2008 numbered 17261 and according to Annex 2 of the Law No. 2547 dated 14/07/2008 by the Council of Ministers and Istanbul Gelisim Vocational College was established and it started to provide education. With the Law No. 6114 dated 17/02/2011, "Istanbul Gelisim University" and it continues to provide education with 3 faculties, 3 institutes, 4 colleges and 2 vocational schools in 2015-2016 academic year, including the Mechatronics Engineering.
Mechatronics Engineering Department in Istanbul Gelisim University has accepted its first students in 2011-2012 academic year. The curriculum of department program is prepared in compliance with ECTS. Mechatronics Engineering Department in Istanbul Gelisim University had its first graduates in 2014-2015 academic year. The courses are carried out in suitable classrooms or at computer and mechatronics laboratories.
