A 3D Printing Workshop for Students at Şehir Münir Alkan Science High School Was Held!
On May 5, 2026, the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Istanbul Gelişim University, organized a 3D Printing Workshop for students at Şehit Münir Alkan Science High School.
The “3D Printing Applications” workshop, organized by the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Istanbul Gelişim University, was held on Tuesday, May 5, with strong participation from students at Şehit Münir Alkan Science High School. The event, which focused on additive manufacturing technologies—a field gaining increasing importance in Mechatronics Engineering—provided participants with the opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge.
During the workshop, instructor Res. Asst. Muhammed Lütfi TIRABZON shared comprehensive information on the working principles of 3D printing technologies, software and hardware infrastructure, production processes, and areas of application. Supported by practical demonstrations, the event allowed students to closely examine the operational logic of a 3D printer and experience production processes firsthand.
Aimed at raising awareness of technology and production processes, the workshop contributed to the students’ professional development while also providing them with the opportunity to practically experience the interdisciplinary nature of Mechatronics Engineering.
