A Ceremony Was Held to Thank the Academics Who Contributed to IGU FEA's ABET Success
Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture successfully extended its accreditation for six years, until September 30, 2031, as a result of the evaluation process conducted by ABET. At the ceremony held to mark this significant development, certificates of appreciation were presented to the academics who contributed to the process by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Abdülkadir Gayretli, and the Rector, Prof. Bahri Şahin.
Istanbul Gelişim University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture has successfully extended its accreditation for six years, until September 30, 2031, following an evaluation process conducted by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), one of the world's most prestigious engineering accreditation organizations. A ceremony of appreciation was held at our university to celebrate this important development.
At the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented by our Board of Trustees Chairman Abdülkadir Gayretli and our Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin.
Education Based on International Standards, Sustainable and Research-Oriented
The comprehensive evaluations conducted by the ABET Committee covered many areas, including the education and training infrastructure, academic staff qualifications, research outputs, quality assurance systems, and continuous improvement mechanisms. As a result of these detailed reviews, the extension of accreditation until 2031 strongly demonstrated our university's vision of sustainable, research-focused higher education with international quality assurance.
The extended ABET accreditation demonstrates not only that current standards are being maintained, but also that steady development and institutional quality culture are being successfully sustained. This achievement is a concrete reflection of our Mechatronics Engineering Department's understanding of academic excellence, applied education approach, and strong partnerships with the industry.
In the speeches given at the ceremony, it was emphasized that this important achievement enhances the global competitiveness of our graduates and adds value to our university's international visibility. All academic and administrative staff who contributed to this success were thanked, and it was stated that quality-focused work will continue to increase.
