Technical Visit to the EÜAŞ Ambarlı Facility by Mechatronics Engineering Students

On October 13, 2026, the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Istanbul Gelişim University organized a technical visit to the EÜAŞ Istanbul Natural Gas Power Plants Operations Directorate’s Ambarlı Facility as part of the MEK311-Thermodynamics course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Haydar KEPEKÇİ. The visit, attended by students from the department, provided an opportunity to relate the theoretical knowledge gained in the course to industrial applications.

Throughout the tour, students had the opportunity to examine energy conversion processes and the basic operating principles of the power plant on site, accompanied by briefings from the EÜAŞ technical team. Explanations regarding the various stages of electricity generation helped students understand how thermodynamic concepts correspond to real-world operations.

The visit supported students in evaluating energy production processes as a whole and reinforcing the topics covered in class through practical experience. Observing the operation of an electricity generation facility on-site provided a valuable experience for students to integrate their engineering knowledge with professional applications.

This technical visit, which supported the interaction between the university and industry, helped raise students’ awareness of the energy sector and contributed to the development of their professional perspectives.
